A SMALLER FILE. ONE LESS OBSTACLE.
Compress an image
to 200KB
Compress an image to 200KB or less on your device. Reduce JPG, PNG or WebP to a new JPG with a measured size limit. Free, up to 3 images. No upload.
A new JPG, not your original. Browser re-encoding reduces quality and can change colors. Resizing may reduce dimensions. Transparent areas become white. Camera and location metadata are not copied.
YOUR SIZE LIMIT
Free · up to 3 imagesAll shortcuts start at 100KB. Check your form’s own size, format, dimensions, and photo rules. A smaller file does not guarantee acceptance.
CHECK, THEN KEEP.

How to compress an image to 200KB
- Choose up to 3 JPG, PNG or WebP images.
- This page starts at 200KB. The limit applies to each output image.
- Choose Compress. The tool adjusts JPG quality and, when allowed, reduces dimensions if needed.
- Check the actual bytes, dimensions and preview, then download each JPG for free.
Keep more room for detail at 200KB
When your form allows 200KB, there is no need to start with a stricter 20KB limit. A larger byte budget can retain more detail, although results depend on the source image. Compress from the original each time: repeatedly compressing a JPG adds losses.
Should I choose 200KB or 100KB?
Use the largest limit your destination permits if retaining detail is your priority. A 200KB limit gives the encoder more room than 100KB, but neither guarantees unchanged quality. Inspect the downloaded JPG and compare it with your original; complex images may still need smaller dimensions.
Will the result be exactly 200KB?
No. 200KB is an upper limit of 200,000 bytes, not an exact output size. Each successful result is measured after encoding. A failed image has no download button. Very small limits can noticeably reduce detail.
Will this keep the original image quality?
No. This tool re-encodes the image as a new JPG. Quality, color, metadata, and sometimes dimensions change. Transparent pixels are placed on white. Keep your original file; it is never overwritten. An image already below the limit may not get smaller when converted to JPG.
Can I use this for a visa, passport, exam, or job application?
You can use it to meet a file-size limit. Requirements vary by form and issuing authority, including dimensions, background, format, and permitted edits. The shortcuts all default to 100KB and do not represent official requirements. Check the instructions for your application.
Why can’t my image reach the limit?
At original dimensions, even lower JPG quality may be too large. Enable smaller dimensions or choose a higher limit. Animated images, unsupported files, images above 32 MiB or 40 megapixels, and images with a side longer than 16,384 pixels are rejected. Large files may still exceed your device’s memory. Processing stops if one image takes over 45 seconds.
Are my images uploaded?
No. Your images are decoded and re-encoded on your device. Loading the website uses the network. Optional usage analytics runs only with your permission and never includes your images or filenames. See our privacy notice.
Do I need Pro to finish?
No. Process up to 3 images in a batch and download every successful result for free, without an account. You can start another free batch. Pro is planned as a one-time purchase for larger batches of up to 100 images and ZIP downloads; it is not on sale. ZIP Pick remains completely free.
